The DJ Uncle Al Peace in the Hood Festival



DJ Uncle Al was known for his trend setting and innovative abilities in music producing and broadcasting as well as his philosophy of "peace in the hood" In MIAMI ON N.W. 71st Street and 15th Avenue and non-violence in the community. He was murdered on September 10, 2001 but MIAMI still show AL LOVE by doin the "peace in the hood" and it's still going strong....

Miami/Bahamas Goombay Festival



Started in 1976 by descendants of the Bahamian immigrants who first settled Coconut Grove, today Goombay is one of the largest Black heritage festivals in the U.S.

The fest is a ton of fun for all, the highlight being the amazingly colorful junkanoo costumes on parade. There's also music, activities for kids, and vendors selling a variety of arts, crafts and food.
